Product Introduction

Closantel + Mebendazole is an oral anthelmintic suspension for sheep and lambs that plays an effective role in the prevention and treatment of infestations caused by trematodes, nematodes, cestodes, and even the larval stages of some arthropods.

Composition

Each liter of the suspension contains:

  • Mebendazole – 75 grams
  • Closantel Sodium – 54.375 grams (equivalent to 50 grams of Closantel)

Indications

This synthetic anthelmintic is effective against a wide range of parasites in sheep and lambs, including:

  • Nematodes: Lungworms (Dictyocaulus filaria); Stomach worms: Ostertagia, Haemonchus contortus, Trichostrongylus axei; Intestinal worms: Trichuris ovis, Chabertia ovina, Oesophagostomum species, Gaigeria pachyscelis, Bunostomum, Strongyloides papillosus, Cooperia, Nematodirus, Trichostrongylus.
  • Trematodes: Fasciola gigantica, Fasciola hepatica.
  • Cestodes: Avitellina centripunctata, Moniezia expansa.
  • Arthropods: Larval stages of Oestrus ovis (Nasal botfly/sheep bot fly).

Dosage & Administration

Sheep and Lambs 15 mg Mebendazole + 10 mg Closantel per kilogram of body weight

Equivalent to 1 mL of suspension per 5 kg of body weight (Oral).

Shake the bottle well before use and administer the suspension using a drenching gun. The exact dose should be determined by a veterinarian based on the actual weight of the animal.

Contraindications

To prevent toxic reactions, avoid simultaneous use of the drug with chlorinated compounds (insecticides).

Withdrawal Period

Meat: 28 days after the last administration of the drug.

  • The drug must be administered based on the accurate weight of the animal and under veterinary supervision.
  • In case of skin or eye contact, immediately wash the area thoroughly with water.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • At therapeutic doses, it is not toxic and is generally free of side effects.
  • Can be used in pregnant animals and throughout the mating period.

Storage Conditions

  • Store in a dry place, at a temperature of 15 to 30°C, and protected from light.
  • Protect from freezing.
